Nürnberg Global Fairs: Merges with parent company NürnbergMesse
  • Merger as part of expansion strategy creates consistent brand presence of NürnbergMesse
  • Updated website now online
The exhibition and pavilion organization company Nürnberg Global Fairs (NGF) merged with its parent company NürnbergMesse GmbH (NürnbergMesse) on 1 January 2010. The merger is part of the expansion strategy announced in 2009: NürnbergMesse plans to move up to the Top Ten leading international exhibition venues by 2020 by doubling its turnover from 150 million to 300 million euros. International turnover alone is to rise to 50 million euros. This will be achieved by founding more and more local subsidiaries, as most recently in Brazil and Italy in 2009. NürnbergMesse has adapted its Internet presence (www.nuernbergmesse.de) to reflect the new corporate structure.

The previous separate brand presence of NGF and the four subsidiaries NürnbergMesse Brasil, NürnbergMesse China, NürnbergMesse Italia and NürnbergMesse North America ceases with the merging of NGF into NürnbergMesse. In future, the exhibition company and its international subsidiaries will appear worldwide under the same brand “NürnbergMesse”. The five exhibitions previously managed by NGF in India, Japan, North America and Russia and the international pavilions will continue to be organized by the established teams.

No jobs will be lost due to the merger. “On the contrary, it will create clearer and simpler structures within NürnbergMesse and improve the exchange of know-how concerning the conception, organization and implementation of international events,” says Petra Wolf, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse and responsible for International Operations.

Petra Wolf has been Executive Director International Operations at NürnbergMesse since 1 October 2009. The 39-year-old has worked for NürnbergMesse for more than twelve years, where her responsibilities included marketing and communication for leading international exhibitions like Chillventa, IWA & OutdoorClassics, POWTECH and GaLaBau. In her new position she will expand International Operations and support NürnbergMesse on its way to the Top Ten of the world’s leading exhibition companies.

NürnbergMesse has also updated its website in the course of the merger. Besides new pictures, Internet users can now find detailed information about the worldwide events, sponsored pavilions and international networks EcoEvents, Global Fair Alliance and Powder & Bulk Network under the “International” heading. All the contact persons and their contact details are listed next to the information. The individual events of NürnbergMesse can be conveniently researched according to alphabetical order, sector, region or date using an online tool.

The international exhibition portfolio currently comprises around twenty exhibitions, including a dozen in South America, three in China and two in North America. The goal of the NürnbergMesse Group is to develop some twenty more exhibitions worldwide corresponding to the exhibition concepts in Nürnberg and so in the best case achieve global market leadership in individual theme segments by 2020. NürnbergMesse plans to invest around 100 million euros in this international expansion in the coming years.
